Amergis Staffing is currently seeking highly skilled RNs for Night Shift Labor & Delivery assignments in Washington DC.
Position Details:
· Contract Length: 13 Weeks (Extensions Available)
· Number of Openings: 3
· Shift Length: 12 hrs
· Start Date: ASAP
· Schedule: Night Shift 7p-7a – Every Other Weekend Required
• BLS & ACLS – Required
• NRP – Required
• AWHONN – Intermediate electronic fetal monitoring – Required
• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state/district – Required
• L&D Experience – Required: 2 Years

“Patient population includes, Females of childbearing years, pregnant 17 weeks gestation, laboring, scheduled procedures (C-sections, external cephalic versions, cerclage (we try not to do these on the unit)), and Triage issues.? The activity on the unit includes admissions, discharges, transfers, pre-op, and deliveries (vaginal and C/S).? Common equipment used in Labor and Delivery includes Fetal Monitors, ?Cerner and Fetalink documentation.?”
The Labor and Delivery nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for the application of the nursing process and the delivery of patient care in the L&D Setting. The Labor and Delivery nurse demonstrates the ability to make clinical judgments in an effective and efficient manner with supervision.
The labor and delivery nurse works with Mothers during the final stages of pregnancy helping with birthing, monitoring the Mother’s vital signs, and becoming astute in signs and symptoms of possible complications. The labor and delivery nurse is involved in patient education and addressing the psychosocial needs of Mothers after delivery and demonstrates critical thinking and performance ability in the coordination of patient care. Consistently performs according to nursing standards and is accountable in managing patient care and assisting others in the management of patient care.
Minimum Requirements:
- Current Registered Nurse license within the state of practice.?
- One year of Labor and Delivery clinical experience within the last three years preferred.?
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
