About the Role

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking compassionate and experienced Behavioral Classroom Aides to provide behavioral support services in school settings. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about working with K–12 students, especially those on the autism spectrum or with intellectual and behavioral disabilities.

You’ll be part of a dynamic team at Alternative Paths Training School (APTS), supporting students in both the Alexandria and Stafford campuses. As a Behavioral Classroom Aide, you’ll help deescalate challenging situations, provide behavioral prompts, and adapt to the unique needs of each student daily.

 Key Responsibilities

Provide direct behavioral support to students in classroom environments

Assist with de-escalation and crisis intervention as needed

Implement behavioral strategies under the guidance of BCBA-led training

Support students with autism spectrum disorders and intellectual disabilities

Maintain a flexible and responsive approach to changing student needs

Minimum Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent

Associate’s degree in behavioral studies or related field (preferred)

Experience working with behavioral children in K–12 settings

Comfortable in high-needs environments with strong de-escalation skills

Current CPR certification

Current TB skin test or chest X-ray

Current Health Certificate (if applicable)
