Float Health Suite RN School 25/26 School Year

The School Registered Nurse oversees the application of thenursing process and the delivery of student care in a school setting. TheSchool RN supports the physical, mental and emotional well-being of studentswithin the school setting. The School RN plays an essential role in promotingthe health and safety, responding to medical emergencies, managing chronicconditions and serving as a liaison between families, school staff andhealthcare providers. The School RN provides services in accordance with Amergis’philosophy, standards, policies and physician orders.  

Minimum Requirements:  

Float school nurse is ASSIGNED their schedule and cannotmake changes; requests can be made but not guaranteed to be honored to ensureevery school has coverage.  Charles County covers all of K-12 and a coupleof charter programs.  Our staff can expect to be sent anywhere in CharlesCounty and should be comfortable understanding potential commutes. 

While mandatory floating is less ideal to candidates, inreturn they are guaranteed to work every day of school regardless of all beingcovered.  If all schools are covered, our staff will double up at a schoolto ensure full time hours are met.  The hours are still strictly paid forhours worked and no holiday or school break pay, but if school is in sessionCCPS will work the nurses.
