Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN)
The Critical Care RNis a highly skilled and dedicated nursing professional responsible forproviding intensive care to patients with life-threatening conditions in theICU or other high-acuity settings. This role demands advanced clinicaljudgment, rapid decision-making, and the ability to manage complex medicalsituations in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. The Critical Care RNworks closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other members of thehealthcare team to deliver safe, effective, and compassionate care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assess and monitor critically ill patients with complex medical needs
- Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies including vasoactive drugs and sedation
- Operate and manage advanced life-support equipment such as ventilators, infusion pumps, and cardiac monitors
- Perform and assist with emergency procedures including intubation, central line placement, and CPR
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and adjust individualized care plans
- Provide education and emotional support to patients and families
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
- Adhere to infection control, safety, and quality standards
- Respond promptly to emergencies including cardiac arrest, respiratory failure, and sepsis
- Advocate for patients and uphold confidentiality and rights
Minimum Requirements:
- Current RN license in the state of practice
- Minimum one year of professional nursing experience; ICU or critical care experience required
- Completion of Amergis’ Competency Program (if applicable)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (PALS preferred)
- TB screening and health clearance (as required)
- Compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Successful completion of new hire orientation and critical care training
- Understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality
- Strong communication skills and proficiency in English
- Basic computer literacy
- Must be at least 18 years of age
