Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 2025–2026 School Year
Schedule: Monday–Friday (varies by school)

About the Role

Amergis Educational Staffing is proud to partner with schools across Norfolk County to support students with diverse learning needs. We’re hiring Behavioral and Learning Support Assistants who are passionate about helping students thrive — academically, socially, and emotionally.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide direct support to students in 1:1 and small group settings
  • Assist with behavior support plans and academic activities
  • Track and document student progress and behavior data
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to create a positive learning environment
  • Step in flexibly to support other classrooms when needed

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with students with behavioral, emotional, or special education needs
  • Strong de-escalation and behavior management skills
  • Familiarity with data collection and behavior tracking tools
  • Calm, patient, and adaptable in dynamic school settings
  • Team-oriented with a growth mindset

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (minimum)
  • CPR certification (if applicable)
  • TB test or chest x-ray (if applicable)
  • Health certificate (per contract/state regulation)
  • Must be at least 18 years old and meet all federal, state, and local requirements

Compensation & Perks

  • Up to $25/hr based on experience

Description: 

  • Provide direct support to students in both 1:1 and small group settings

  • Supporting students with toileting

Experience

  • Comfortable working with students with high needs and behavioral challenges
  • De-escalation 
  • Experience with data collection (types taken/programs used) and behavior tracking
  • Ability to remain calm, patient, and supportive in a dynamic environment
  • Flexibility to support other students and classrooms as needed. 
  • Collaborative and growth mindset. 

Pay Rate: 

 

  • Up to $25/hr based on experience

Minimum Requirements: 

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Comply with all relevant professional standards of practice 
  • Current CPR if applicable
  • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable 
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) 
  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements   
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
