Position Summary:
The Speech-LanguagePathologist in the school setting is responsible for performing studentevaluations as well as providing and documenting therapy services in accordancewith the plan of care developed for each individual student and the physician’sorders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment & Diagnosis: Evaluate students’ speech, language, communication, and swallowing abilities using standardized tools and informal assessments to identify needs and eligibility for services.
- Individualized Education Plans (IEPs): Develop and implement IEPs tailored to each student’s communication goals, collaborating with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
- Therapeutic Intervention: Provide direct therapy services to students with speech and language disorders, including articulation, fluency, voice, receptive/expressive language, and social communication.
- Collaboration & Consultation: Work closely with educators, administrators, and families to support students’ communication needs in the classroom and across school environments.
- Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate records of assessments, progress notes, and therapy sessions, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and district regulations.
Minimum Requirements
- Active Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) Licensure in the state of assignment required
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred and may be required by state/contract.
- Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
