Location: El Monte, CA
Schedule: 30+hours per week
Compensation: $50/hour, paid weekly

Amergis is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mild/Moderate Special Education Teacher to join a local school district across Los Angeles County for the 2025–2026 school year. This position will allow you to gain experience supporting students with mild to moderate learning and behavioral needs. The ideal candidate is committed to inclusive education, collaborative teamwork, and student-centered instruction.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with families, specialists, and school staff.
- Deliver differentiated instruction aligned with the general education curriculum in both individual and small group settings.
- Serve as the IEP case manager, coordinating services and supports with general education teachers and related service providers.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction and goals based on data and team input.
- Provide consultation and coaching to general education staff to support inclusive practices.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and district regulations.
- Participate in school-based meetings, professional development, and collaborative planning.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (Master’s preferred).
- Valid Colorado Teaching License with Special Education Generalist Endorsement (or ability to obtain before start date).
- Preferred endorsements: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1).
- At least one year of experience in a special education setting preferred.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Must meet all state and district requirements, including:
- Current TB test or chest X-ray
- CPR certification (if applicable)
- Health clearance (if required)
