Special Education Teacher – Elementary SPICE 1 (Grades 1–5)
Location: Gilbert, AZ
Pay Rate: $48–$52/hr
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: May 2026
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM (Exact bell schedule TBD)
Modality: In-person, Self-Contained Classroom
Classroom Support: Paraprofessionals
Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate and qualified Special Education Teacher to join our Elementary SPICE 1 program in Gilbert, AZ. This role serves students in grades 1 through 5 in a self-contained classroom setting. Under the guidance of the Special Education Program Administrator, the teacher will provide individualized instruction and collaborate with general education staff to support student success.
Responsibilities
- Deliver specialized instruction aligned with IEP goals
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff
- Provide tutorial assistance and consultation
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)
- Valid Arizona teaching certificate (required)
- Minimum of one year teaching experience (preferred)
- Preferred Certifications:
- Standard Elementary Teaching
- Standard Secondary Teaching
- Standard Special Teaching
- Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) Endorsement
- Current CPR certification (if applicable)
- TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray (if applicable)
- Current health certificate (per contract/state regulation)
- Must be at least 18 years of age
