Special Education Teacher (LBS1) – Severe Autism Program
Location: Gages Lake, IL
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: End of 2025–2026 School Year
Duration: 39 weeks
Schedule: 35 hours/week
Pay Rate: $58–$62/hr
Grade Levels: Kindergarten through Grade 12
Caseload: 6 students per classroom (1:1 support model with paraprofessionals)
We are hiring multiple Special Education Teachers to support a Severe Autism Program in Gages Lake, IL. This is a highly structured, well-supported classroom environment with a 1:1 staffing model—each student receives individualized attention from a dedicated team of educators and paraprofessionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction to students with severe autism
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, general education staff, and administrators
- Develop and implement IEPs tailored to student needs
- Offer tutorial assistance and consultation services
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)
- Valid Illinois teaching certificate (required)
- LBS1 endorsement (preferred)
- Minimum of one year of teaching experience (preferred)
- Certifications in Standard Elementary, Secondary, or Special Teaching (preferred)
- Current CPR certification (if applicable)
- TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray (if applicable)
- Current health certificate (as required by contract or state)
- Must be at least 18 years of age
