Special Education Teacher (LBS1 – 6th Grade Resource Classroom)
Location: Buffalo Grove, IL
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 3:00 PM
Start Date: ASAP
Assignment Length: Through End of School Year 2026
Hours/Week: 32.5
Pay Rate: $58/hr
Modality: In-Person Only

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team and provide high-quality services to students in a 6th grade resource classroom. This role supports a caseload of 9 students and collaborates closely with general education staff to implement individualized programs, including specialized instruction and consultation.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction to students with diverse learning needs
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff
  • Develop and implement IEPs in compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Maintain accurate records and progress reports
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)
  • Valid state teaching certificate (required)
  • Minimum of one year teaching experience (preferred)
  • Certification Types (preferred):
    • Standard Elementary Teaching
    • Standard Secondary Teaching
    • Standard Special Teaching
  • Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) (preferred)
  • Compliance with all professional standards and state/federal requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Current CPR certification (if applicable)
  • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray (if applicable)
  • Current health certificate (as required by contract or state regulation)

Classroom Details:

  • Grade Level: 6th Grade
  • Caseload: 9 students
  • Support Staff: No paraprofessionals assigned
