Special Education Teacher

The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of theSpecial Education Program Administrator provides quality services to specialeducation students, kindergarten through grade 12.  The Special Education Teacher has acommitment to team participation in planning and implementation of studentprograms including special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultationwith general education staff.  

Minimum Requirements:  

$1,000 sign on bonus (paid out after 30 days)*

Caseload details:

High School 

High poverty

· Inner city schools

· Kids coming from generational poverty, generational drug use

· Mainly LD students

o   A Learning Disability (LD) is a disorder that affects people’s ability to either interpret what they see and hear or to link information from different parts of the brain. These limitations can show up in many ways: as specific difficulties with spoken and written language, co-ordination, self-control, or attention.

 

CLASSROOM SETTINGS:

· Combo of self-contained and Resource

o   Not all students need one or the other, each student usually has 1-2 subjects they struggle with and need self-contained, but don’t need it all day

· Resource is co-taught with bigger classes

· Self-contained they are pulled out and working independently or with really small groups
