Special Education Teacher (LBS1 – Case Manager)
Location: Markham, IL
Start Date: September 29, 2025
Duration: 39 weeks
Schedule: 35 hours/week
Pay Rate: $50–$55/hr
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and collaborative Special Education Teacher to serve as a case manager for students across Early Childhood, Elementary, and Junior High grade levels. This role focuses on consultation and advocacy rather than classroom instruction, offering an opportunity to make a meaningful impact through individualized support and collaboration with general education staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Set and track student goals
- Consult and collaborate with general education teachers
- Advocate for students on caseload
- Provide tutorial assistance and special instruction as needed
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)
- Valid state teaching certificate (required)
- Standard Elementary, Secondary, or Special Teaching Certification preferred
- LBS1 Endorsement preferred
- Minimum of one year teaching experience (preferred)
- Compliance with all professional standards of practice
- Current CPR certification (if applicable)
- TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray (if applicable)
- Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must be at least 18 years of age
Modality:
This is a consulting and collaborative role, not classroom-based. The teacher will work closely with staff and students to ensure IEP goals are met and students receive the support they need.
