Amergis Healthcare has an opportunity for a Residential Support Counselor to provide care in residential homes and community based settings at multiple locations in Chittenden County. 

Pay: $30/hour, paid weekly

Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years experience in a behavioral setting 
  • Must be comfortable working 1 on 1, sometimes with severe cases 
  • Valid driver’s license, and use of a personal vehicle to transport residents as needed 
  • Associate’s Degree, Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Counseling, Nursing or other Human Development Major
  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Routine lifting
  • Ability to work either Saturday or Sunday
  • Knowledge of medical equipment
  • Committed to trauma-informed approach

Schedule: 32-40 hours per week, multiple shifts available, 1 weekend day per week

Job Duties:

  • Initiate constructive activities that address goals on a client’s Individual treatment plan
  • Implement support and crisis plans  in collaboration with the treatment team.
  • Facilitate community inclusion, daily living, and skill acquisition
  • Utilization of sound judgement and maintenance of calm demeanor during crisis
  • Provide needed behavioral and/or mental health support
  • Provide needed personal and/or medical care

Duration: Temp to Perm
