Pay Rate:
$50/hour (based on experience)
AmergisEducational Staffing ispartnered with a school in Brockton, MA seeking a School AdjustmentCounselor to join their PreK Evaluation Team on a contractual basis.
PositionHighlights:
- Conduct parent interviews for home assessments (ages 2.6–5)
- Complete questionnaires and report background info to the team
- Support families during evaluations and explain the assessment process
- Collaborate with diagnostic team to finalize reports
- Complete up to 8 evaluations per week
- Must be proficient in oral and written communication
- Bilingual candidates strongly encouraged to apply
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Early childhood experience preferred

The School Counselor/School Mental Health Worker provides individual and group counseling to students experiencing emotional, behavioral, or social challenges. The School Counselor/School Mental Health Worker supports students in developing coping strategies, improving emotional regulation, and enhancing overall mental well-being. In collaboration with families, teachers, and other school staff, they help create a safe and supportive learning environment, facilitate referrals to community-based mental health services when needed, and contribute to the development of school-wide mental health initiatives.
Minimum Requirements:
- Licensing/Certification according to state/facility/contract requirement
- The Counselor may be required to have an Associate’s Degree, Bachelor’s Degree or Masters in Psychology, Addictions, Sociology, Social Work, Counseling, Nursing, or some other Human Development major per state, contract and/or facility guidelines.
- Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
