Amergis is currently recruiting for a Food Service Specialist (Cook) at a medical facility in Arlington, VA. This is a contract opportunity ideal for someone passionate about food service and making a difference in a residential treatment setting.

We have both full-time (Monday–Friday) and part-time (Saturday–Sunday) positions available!

Position Summary:
As a Food Service Specialist, you’ll prepare and serve approximately 200 meals daily to patients, ensuring high standards of nutrition, sanitation, and menu appeal. You’ll play a key role in maintaining the salad bar and supporting the overall food service operations.

Requirements:

Education & Certifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certificate in health and sanitation (Arlington County Health Department)
  • Serve Safe Certification / Food Managers Certificate

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years in food service, preferably in institutional food production
  • Experience in a residential community setting

Skills:

  • Ability to follow confidentiality regulations
  • Basic computer skills (email, timekeeping)
  • Ability to read and follow recipes and written instructions
