Job Title: Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teacher
Location: Greenwood, Indiana
Pay Rate: $55/hour
Schedule: 3–4 days per week
Grade Levels: PK–12
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teacher to support students across all school buildings in the Greenwood, IN area. This role involves working with students from Pre-K through 12th grade, providing both direct instruction and consultative services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as Teacher of Record for 11 students and Teacher of Service for 6 additional students (total caseload: 16).
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the individual needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure inclusive and accessible learning environments.
- Travel between school buildings as needed to provide services across multiple grade levels.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation.
- Provide support in the use of assistive technology and communication tools (e.g., FM systems, interpreters, captioning).
Qualifications:
- Valid Indiana teaching license with Deaf/Hard of Hearing endorsement.
- Experience working with students across a range of ages and abilities.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to travel between school sites within the district.
- Knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) preferred.
