Now Hiring: Special Education Teacher (K–12) Maternity Coverage
Location: Litchfield Park, AZ
Start Date: September 17, 2025
Schedule: 40 hours/week | 36-week contract
Compensation:

  • Local Candidates: $50/hr
  • Travel Candidates: $25/hr + $1,100/week in stipends

Position Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Special Education Teacher to provide high-quality services to students with special needs across grades K–12. This role is under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator and focuses on collaborative planning and implementation of individualized student programs, including specialized instruction, tutorial support, and consultation with general education staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized instruction aligned with students’ IEPs
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff
  • Monitor and document student progress
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to program development
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)
  • Valid state teaching certificate (as required by state/district)
  • Minimum of one year of teaching experience (preferred)
  • Preferred Certifications:
    • Standard Elementary Teaching
    • Standard Secondary Teaching
    • Standard Special Teaching
    • Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) Endorsement
  • Compliance with professional standards of practice
  • Current CPR certification (if applicable)
  • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray (if applicable)
  • Current health certificate (per contract/state regulation)
  • Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
