Special Education Teacher – SELF Program | K–5 | $50/hr | Full-Time | Yelm, WA

Amergis Educational Staffing is hiring a Special Education Teacher for a full-time role in Yelm, WA. This position supports a K–5 self-contained classroom within the SELF program, which focuses on life skills instruction and includes students with Autism. The caseload is currently 12 students, and the role begins September 3, 2025.

Position Details

• Location: Yelm, WA (Elementary campus)

• Start Date: September 3, 2025

• Schedule: 37.5 hours/week, Monday–Friday

• Duration: 36 weeks

• Pay Rate: $50/hour

• Grade Level: Elementary (K–5)

• Setting: SELF program – life skills, Autism support, self-contained

• Caseload: 10–15 students (currently 12)

Responsibilities

• Deliver individualized instruction in a structured, self-contained setting

• Support life skills development and academic growth

• Collaborate with general education staff and related service providers

• Participate in IEP planning and implementation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (preferred)

• Valid Washington State teaching certificate (Special Education endorsement preferred)

• One year of teaching experience (preferred)

• LBS1 endorsement (preferred)

• CPR certification, TB screening, and health certificate (if applicable)

• Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
