Certified Medical Assistant –Correctional Facility
Location: Littlerock, WA – Minimum Security All-Male Prison
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM–3:00 PM
Pay: $28–$31/hour (based on experience)
Start Date: October 6th or October 13th
Contract length: 13 weekswith possibility to extend
Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable andskilled Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join thehealthcare team at a minimum security correctional facility in Littlerock, WA.This role requires a professional who can work independently andcollaboratively in a fast-paced, structured environment. The ideal candidatewill have strong phlebotomy skills, experience with paper charting, and acommitment to providing quality care to an underserved population.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine clinical tasks including vital signs, EKGs, and specimen collection
- Conduct phlebotomy procedures with precision and efficiency
- Assist with medication administration under supervision
- Maintain accurate and thorough paper-based medical records
- Support providers during sick calls, chronic care visits, and intake assessments
- Monitor and report changes in patient conditions
- Ensure infection control and safety protocols are followed
- Escort patients to and from medical areas as needed
- Maintain confidentiality and security in accordance with correctional facility policies
- Participate in emergency response and triage situations
- Communicate effectively with custody staff, nursing team, and providers
Requirements
- Active Washington State Medical Assistant Certification
- Current AHA BLS Certification
- Negative TB test within the last 12 months
- Physical exam within the last 12 months stating ability to work without limitations
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a clinical setting; correctional healthcare experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
