Position Overview:
The 1:1 School LPN/LVN is responsible for identifying and addressing health concerns for an individual student throughout the school day. This role includes promoting general wellness, providing health education, supporting disease prevention efforts, and ensuring the student’s physical condition is monitored and managed in accordance with nursing standards and state education codes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage the student’s health needs during the school day
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Provide health education and promote wellness
- Respond to health emergencies and refer to appropriate healthcare resources
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with nursing standards
Minimum Requirements:
- Current LPN/LVN license in the state of assignment
- Preferred: One year of school nurse experience
- Preferred: One year of pediatric experience
- Current CPR certification (if applicable)
- TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray (if applicable)
- Current Health Certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
- Must be 18 years or older
