The Mental / Psychiatric Health Technician cares for individuals with psychiatric conditions as well as a variety of substance use disorders, following the instructions of physicians, nurses or other health practitioners. The Behavioral Health Technician monitors a patients’ safety, physical and emotional well-being and report directly to medical staff.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Associate’s degree in behavioral studies or related field, or equivalent experience preferred (or per facility requirements)
- Minimum of one (1) year relevant experience preferred
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age

Location: Vista, CA Schedule: Full-time Details: MHTs will work within the home with six teen patients who stay for an average of 40 days. They all struggle with self-harm, suicidal ideations, hallucinations, anxiety, etc. MHTs’ primary responsibility will be to act as constant line of sight and supervisor to the patients, administer meds as needed, confirm that house chores are being completed, help with chores and light cooking, lead a weekly group therapy session (with modules in place so they will not need to create plans), and create observation notes in the EMR system Kipu. Desired Experience: Candidates should have a background working within a residential treatment center and/or with adolescent patients. Duties: Supervision + Conducting electronic round every 15 min – dealing with 1:1 and high risk clients. Also will assist with residential housekeeping (laundry, prep, etc.) |
