Special Education Teacher – Independence & Monmouth, OR | $55/hr | 90-Day Contract

Amergis Educational Staffing is hiring multiple full-time Special Education Teachers to support programs in Independence and Monmouth, Oregon. These in-person roles begin with training on August 20, 2025, and run for an initial 90-day contract with strong potential for extension. Interviews are conducted virtually with district HR.

Position Details

  • Locations: Independence & Monmouth, OR

  • Start Date: August 20, 2025 (training)

  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM

  • Hours: 37.5 paid hours/week

  • Contract Length: 90 days

  • Pay Rate: $55/hr

  • Openings: 5 positions

Program Assignments

  • ILC Elementary – Intensive Education Services (IES)

    • Caseload: 8–10 students

    • Team collaboration with another ILC teacher

    • Support: 5 Instructional Assistants

  • Resource Classroom #1

    • Caseload: 25 students

    • Support: 6 shared IAs

  • Resource Classroom #2

    • Caseload: 20 students

    • Support: 4 shared IAs

  • Middle School – Basic Life Skills

    • Caseload: 6 students

    • Support: 4 Instructional Assistants

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)

  • Valid Oregon teaching certificate as required by state and district regulations

  • Minimum one year of classroom experience (preferred)

  • Experience working with behavioral needs required

  • Licensure:

    • Standard Elementary, Secondary, or Special Teaching (preferred)

    • Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) endorsement (preferred)

  • Current CPR certification (if applicable)

  • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray (if applicable)

  • Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

  • Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
