Special Education Teacher – Portland, OR | $52–$56/hr | Full School Year

Amergis Educational Staffing is hiring full-time Special Education Teachers to support Portland Public Schools for the 2025–2026 academic year. These in-person roles span both elementary and secondary levels, with a focus on Life Skills, Autism, and Behavioral classrooms. Interviews are conducted virtually, with feedback typically provided within 48 hours.

Position Details

Location: Portland, OR
Start Date: August 25, 2025
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 37.5 hours/week (unpaid lunch)
Contract Length: 9 months
Pay Rate: $52–$56/hr

Classroom Focus Areas

Life Skills
Autism (including severely impacted students)
Behavioral support

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)
Valid Oregon teaching certificate as required by state and district regulations
Minimum one year of classroom experience (preferred)
Licensure:
- Standard Elementary Teaching (preferred)
- Standard Secondary Teaching (preferred)
- Standard Special Teaching (preferred)
- Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) endorsement (preferred)
Current CPR certification (if applicable)
TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray (if applicable)
Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
Must be at least 18 years of age
