The School Aide is an individual who works with studentsrequiring instructional, and/or behavioral assistance under the supervision ofthe special education department, teacher and/or supervising designee. The School Aide may also provide supportservices to assist students with personal, physical mobility and therapeuticcare needs, as established by a rehabilitation health practitioner, socialworker or other health care professional.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Comply with all relevant professional standards ofpractice
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age

Details: 7 Para Educators to work in theTransitions program. Staff will be working 2:1 with students between the agesof 18 to 22 years old. For each student they will have one Amergis Para and one school employee (likely a classified staff). The goal of the programis to develop students’ professional and real-life skills to set them up forsuccess after graduating.
Our staff will spend half of their day at District High School in the classroomwith students. The other half of their day will be spent in the community whereeach student will have a job. A School employee will be responsible for anydriving and Amergis staff are not authorized to provide transportation forstudents or School Staff
