Position Details:

- Pay Rate: Up to $55/hour
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field
- Valid Massachusetts Special Education teaching license (Middle School level preferred)
- Strong understanding of ELA standards, instructional strategies, and evidence-based interventions
- Experience with inclusive education models and co-teaching practices
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive teaching
Role Overview:

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted instructional support in ELA classrooms through push-in services, co-teaching, and small group facilitation
- Deliver individualized and small-group instruction in a pull-out setting to support IEP goals and skill development
- Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt curriculum, create accommodations, and implement differentiated instruction
- Conduct ongoing progress monitoring and maintain accurate documentation of student performance and IEP compliance
- Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and team planning sessions
- Support students in developing executive functioning, literacy skills, and self-advocacy
- Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and confidence

The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator provides quality services to special education students, kindergarten through grade 12. The Special Education Teacher has a commitment to team participation in planning and implementation of student programs including special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultation with general education staff.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university preferred
- Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations
- Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching preferred
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching preferred
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teaching preferred
- Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred
- Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
