Special Education Teacher

Location: In-Person Only
Start Date: August 25, 2025
Contract Duration: 40 Weeks
Work Hours: 37.5 Hours/Week

Position Summary

The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, provides high-quality educational services to students with special needs from kindergarten through grade 12. This role emphasizes collaboration and team participation in planning and implementing individualized student programs, including specialized instruction, tutorial support, and consultation with general education staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver adaptive and general curriculum instruction in a self-contained classroom setting
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure student success
  • Monitor and document student progress
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and district regulations
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (preferred)
  • Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract, or district regulations
  • Minimum of one year of teaching experience (preferred)
  • State Teacher Certification (preferred types):
    • Standard Elementary Teaching
    • Standard Secondary Teaching
    • Standard Special Teaching
  • Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) (preferred)

  • Work Setting: In-person only
  • Openings Available:
    • Elementary adaptive curriculum
    • Elementary general curriculum (self-contained)
  • Note: Inclusion teacher positions are not needed at this time
