Registered Nurse (RN) – Correctional Institution
Location: Hookerton, NC
Shift Options:
- Days: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM | 40 hours/week | Every Other Weekend (EOW)
- Nights: 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM | 36/48 hour rotation | Every Other Weekend (EOW)
Contract Type: 13 weeks - Local & Travel Assignments Available
Position Summary:
Join a dedicated healthcare team providing essential medical services within a secure correctional environment. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a critical role in delivering compassionate, evidence-based care to an underserved population, ensuring safety, dignity, and quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and triage care needs
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide acute care
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation
- Collaborate with correctional staff and healthcare providers
- Educate patients on health maintenance and disease prevention
- Uphold safety, security, and ethical standards in all care delivery
Qualifications:
- Active RN license in the state of practice
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience (correctional or acute care preferred)
- Current BLS certification
- Strong communication and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, structured environment
