Amergis is actively recruiting Special Education Teachers to join an Elementary School  in full-time, in-person roles supporting students in Mild/Moderate Special Day Classes (SDC). These positions offer a collaborative environment, strong administrative support, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in inclusive education.

?? About the Role

Under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, the Special Education Teacher will:

• Provide specialized instruction and support to students with mild to moderate learning needs

• Collaborate with general education staff to implement individualized programs

• Participate in team planning, tutorial assistance, and IEP development

• Serve students across various grade levels in SDC classroom settings

• 4 openings available

• Start date: ASAP

• 35 hours/week (7 hours/day, Monday–Friday)

• In-person only

• Contract length: TBD

• Caseload and grade level: To be discussed during interview

?? Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (preferred)

• Valid California Mild/Moderate (MM) Special Education Credential (required)

• State Teacher Certification (Elementary, Secondary, or Special Teaching preferred)

• LBS1 endorsement preferred

• Minimum one year of teaching experience (preferred)

• Current CPR certification (if applicable)

• TB screening and health certificate (as required)

• Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements

• Minimum age: 18 years
