Working as a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA)with Hood River County School District

Technical Skills Needed/Minimum Experience/Qualifications

– At least 1 year of experience as a SLPA Teacher.

? Associates’ Degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assistantfrom an approved college.

? Oregon Speech-Language Pathology Assistant Certification.

? Prior experience working with children.

? Experience supporting and working with speech languagepathologists.

? Motivate students, communicate with individuals fromvaried educational and cultural backgrounds, direct support of personnel,evaluate performance of students.

? Excellent written and oral communication skills.

? Knowledge of speech and language development theories andpractices; language articulation and hearing disorders. Knowledge of generalmethods and techniques of individual and group speech therapy.

Hours/Week (Paid/Unpaid Lunch):

Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours per week

Position Details (Age group, Caseload, Duties):

1 Position

This position will need to be an in person with thefollowing assignment:

*Supporting SLP at both middle schools 

*Suppport SLP covering Hood River Valley High School, AltProgram, and Private Schools

Feedback Time:

24 – 48 Hours

Pay Rate:

$45-$48hr depending on experience
