Job Opening: Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Case Manager
Location: Escondido, CA
Employment Type: Full-Time (Monday–Friday, 40 hours/week)
Compensation: $25–$30 per hour
Work Setting: Residential Addiction Treatment Center
Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SUD Case Manager to join our team at a residential treatment facility. This role is ideal for individuals who are registered with a recognized SUD credentialing agency and are actively pursuing certification as a SUD Specialist or Counselor. The Case Manager will support clients in recovery by connecting them with essential community resources such as housing, employment, healthcare, and mental health services.
Responsibilities

Develop individualized case management plans aligned with each client’s treatment goals and discharge planning.

Assist clients in establishing a medical home and obtaining a physical examination.

Guide clients through the Medi-Cal application process or help transfer insurance coverage to San Diego County.

Support clients in job readiness, including resume preparation, interview coaching, and job search strategies using a strength-based approach.

Refer clients to external services for housing, legal assistance, healthcare, and mental health support.

Facilitate group meetings focused on case management goals and personal development.

Apply motivational interviewing and strength-based techniques to enhance client engagement with outside services.

Ensure timely and accurate completion of all required documentation, including progress notes and group notes, in compliance with state and funding agency requirements.

Maintain organized and complete client files.

Qualifications

Registered or certified addiction counselor (e.g., RADT, CADC).

Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred, or equivalent education and experience.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Proficient in relevant computer applications and documentation systems.

Skilled in motivational interviewing and strength-based case management.
