Job Posting: Occupational Therapist (OT) – Sacramento, CA
Assignment Type: 13-week contract (with possible extension)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM (rotating weekends)
Start Date: Two weeks from offer acceptance
Location: Sacramento, CA
The Occupational Therapist is responsible for performing client evaluations, developing and providing occupational therapy services, and documenting services in accordance with the plan of care developed for each patient.
Minimum Requirements:
- Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the State of practice
- Must be a graduate of an accredited school or program of Occupational Therapy
- One (1) year of prior professional Occupational Therapy experience preferred
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
CA OT License and BLS required
Unit Highlights:
- Collaborative team of PTs, OTs, SLPs, Recreational Therapists, Social Workers, and more
- Patients are medically stable with clear rehabilitation goals
- Common diagnoses include brain injuries and other neurological conditions
- Epic charting system used
- Average caseload: 3–4 patients/day (Unit census: 4–7 patients)
- Average length of stay: ~3 weeks
- May float to Burn Unit (experience preferred)
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Required: Some inpatient experience, even if from several years ago
- Preferred: Pediatric inpatient rehabilitation experience
- Strongly Considered: Inpatient experience with pediatric background (clinic/school/outpatient)
- Acceptable: Adult inpatient rehab experience with some pediatric exposure
