Amergis Staffing is looking for caring Speech Language Pathologists Assistant for school-based opportunities in Manassas, VA for the 25/26 School Year.

·       Position: Speech Language Pathologist Assistant

·       Location: Manassas, VA

·       Grade: K-12

·       Schedule: M-F / 37.5 hours

·       Length: 25/26 School Year

·       Start: First day of School August 25th

·       Pay Rate: $38/hr  

Job Description:

o   Under the direction and supervision of a Speech Language Pathologist, this position assists in supplementing, enhancing and extending speech/language therapy services by completing a variety of tasks such as, but not limited to, direct activities with students designed to develop pre-language and language skills, oral-motor control for speech production, vocalization, and use of assistive technology devices for communication.

o   The Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) serves students who have identified speech and language disorders and may have other disabilities as well. This is a 10-month position.

Educational Requirements:

    • Option 1: Obtain a two-year degree from an accredited SLPA program.
    • Option 2: Complete a bachelor’s degree in communication sciences and disorders and then complete ASHA’s Online SLPA Assistant Education Modules or an academic equivalent.
    • Option 3: Complete a bachelor’s or associate degree and then complete an SLPA certificate program or coursework in specific areas like communication disorders, phonetics, and language development. 

All SLPAs will be supervised by a SLP and can log hours that will go towards their coursework/obtaining a certification.
