Details of the Position Include:
Location: Brockton, MA
Pay Rate: $55/hour (based on experience)
Start Date: 9/2/2025
Duration: 2025 – 2026 School Year
Schedule: Monday- Friday (school hours)
Requirements: Special Education Licensure
Description: Amergis is currently hiring qualified Special EducationTeachers for both high school classrooms and transitionprogram settings.
Transition Program Overview:
This program is designed to help students develop essential life skills,including independent living, vocational training,and self-advocacy. Teachers will guide students through real-worldexperiences such as community engagement and collegeexposure to prepare them for life beyond school.
Inclusion Classroom Overview:
Teachers will work in inclusive settings, co-teachingcore subjects such as ELA or Math. Responsibilities includecreating and implementing differentiated lesson plans thatalign with students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs),ensuring each student receives the support they need to succeed.

The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator provides quality services to special education students, kindergarten through grade 12. The Special Education Teacher has a commitment to team participation in planning and implementation of student programs including special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultation with general education staff.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university preferred
- Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations
- Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching preferred
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching preferred
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teaching preferred
- Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred
- Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
