School RN/LPN 

The school nurse promotes student health and wellness by providing direct care, managing chronic conditions, and responding to medical emergencies. They collaborate with families, staff, and healthcare providers to support students’ physical and emotional well-being. The nurse also maintains health records, administers medications, and ensures compliance with state health regulations. Additionally, they educate students and staff on health-related topics and help prevent the spread of illness within the school community.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor and assess student health throughout the school day

Administer medications and treatments as prescribed

Provide first aid and emergency care when needed

Support chronic condition management and individualized health plans

Promote health education and disease prevention

Maintain accurate health records and documentation

Communicate effectively with students, families, and school personnel

Refer students to appropriate healthcare providers when necessary

Minimum Requirements:

Current RN/LPN license in the state of practice

One year of experience in a school or pediatric setting preferred

Current CPR certification (if applicable)

TB screening (questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray as required)

Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

Compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations

Must be at least 18 years of age

Adherence to professional standards of practice
