School LPN/ RN

The School LPN/LVN plays a vital role in supporting student health and wellness within the educational environment. This position may involve working in a general school setting or providing dedicated 1:1 care for a student with specific medical needs. Responsibilities include monitoring student health, administering prescribed treatments, promoting wellness, and collaborating with school staff and families to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment. All care is provided in accordance with the LPN/LVN scope of practice and complies with applicable state education and healthcare regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor and assess student health throughout the school day

Administer medications and treatments as prescribed

Provide first aid and emergency care when needed

Support chronic condition management and individualized health plans

Promote health education and disease prevention

Maintain accurate health records and documentation

Communicate effectively with students, families, and school personnel

Refer students to appropriate healthcare providers when necessary

Minimum Requirements:

Current LPN/LVN license in the state of practice

One year of experience in a school or pediatric setting preferred

Current CPR certification (if applicable)

TB screening (questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray as required)

Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

Compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations

Must be at least 18 years of age

Adherence to professional standards of practice
