Responsibilities
- Implement Individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) Support students with autism and other developmental disabilities by following behavior plans created by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), tailored to classroom and school settings.
- Apply ABA Therapy Techniques in Educational Environments Use Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies such as Discrete Trial Training (DTT), Natural Environment Teaching (NET), and reinforcement systems to promote academic, behavioral, and social success.
- Collect and Record Student Data Accurately track student progress on IEP goals and behavior targets using data collection tools; complete session notes and documentation in compliance with school district and ABA provider policies.
- Promote Positive Student Engagement Encourage appropriate classroom behavior, attention, and participation through proactive behavior support and positive reinforcement techniques.
- Collaborate with School Professionals Partner with teachers, special education staff, school psychologists, speech therapists, and BCBAs to ensure consistent implementation of behavior strategies across all school settings.
- Manage Challenging Behaviors in the Classroom Respond to behavioral incidents using trained de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention strategies, while maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Support Social Skills and Emotional Regulation Help students build peer interaction skills, emotional coping strategies, and independence through structured ABA-based interventions.
- Maintain Confidentiality and Professional Ethics Adhere to HIPAA and FERPA regulations; demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and ethical conduct in all interactions with students, staff, and families.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED (Required)
- Ability to pass a background check and TB test (Required)
- Reliable transportation to school sites – Tustin, Orange, Santa Ana, Garden Grove, Irvine
- Strong communication and interpersonal skill
