Caseload Details:

The SRT Leader is responsible for:

1. Working with administration and staff to improve instructional outcomes for learners coordination of building-based special education programs and services

2 .Coordination of problem solving activities performed by Student Resource Teams

3. Coordination and facilitation of IEP Meetings that comply with both IDEA and ISBE Special Education Rules and Regulations and Procedural Safeguards

4. Maintenance of accurate and up-to-date IEP database and required student records.

5.  Additional duties may from time to time be assigned in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policies and requirements.

Requirements

Experience Running IEP meetings and LBS1 Endorsement OR PEL with School Psychology OR PEL with School Social Worker Endorsement

Qualifications:

  • Current Illinois Teaching (PEL) Professional Educator Licensure with required endorsement (LBS1, Type 73 School Psychologist or School Social Worker)
  • Knowledge of current, research-based teaching techniques and instructional methodologies for children who are at-risk and have special needs
  • Familiarity with IDEA and ISBE Special Education Rules and Regulations and Procedural Safeguards
  • Familiarity with the use of technology and related IEP databases
  • Ability to facilitate problem solving teams and IEP meetings
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with staff and families
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others
  • Leadership experience working with ISBE
