Amergis Educational Staffingis partnered with a school in Lakeville, MA, seeking a passionate and dedicatedHigh School Special Education Teacher to work in a Sub-Separate Life Skillsclassroom for grades 9–12. This is a contractual position for the 2025–2026school year.

Location: Lakeville, MA
Pay Rate: Up to $50.00/hour
Start Date: September 3, 2025
End Date: End of 2025–2026 School Year
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 2:30 PM
Contract Type: Full School Year
Requirements: Valid Massachusetts Teaching License

Position Overview:
We are looking for a licensed educator who is committed to supporting studentswith significant special education needs. The ideal candidate believes in everystudent’s potential and brings creativity to teaching academic subjects, socialdevelopment, life skills, and vocational training.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach students in a Life Skills classroom (grades 9–12)
  • Chair annual IEP meetings and write/revise IEPs
  • Serve as liaison for assigned special education caseload
  • Manage the classroom environment and paraprofessional staff effectively
  • Design and implement differentiated instruction in academic and life skills areas
  • Use innovative strategies and technology to enhance learning and build student confidence
  • Promote high academic standards and inclusive practices
  • Implement strategies that support equity and diversity for students with moderate to severe disabilities
  • Uphold equal opportunity policies in both education and employment
  • Perform additional job-related duties as assigned

The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator provides quality services to special education students, kindergarten through grade 12.  The Special Education Teacher has a commitment to team participation in planning and implementation of student programs including special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultation with general education staff.  

Minimum Requirements:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university preferred 
  • Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations 
  • Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred 
  • State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching preferred
  • State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching preferred
  • State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teaching preferred
  • Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred
  • Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice 
  • Current CPR if applicable 
  • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable 
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) 
  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements 
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
