Interim Director – Mental Health
Compensation: $3,300 per week
Schedule: 5×8-hour shifts per week
Location: Visalia, CA
Start Date: August 18

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking an experienced and compassionate Interim Director of Mental Health to lead operations at a 63-bed inpatient mental health hospital in Visalia, CA. This facility serves involuntary patients admitted through the County and local Emergency Room, with a focus on long-term, chronic mental illness.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide strategic and operational leadership for a multidisciplinary team of approximately 133 employees.
Oversee five department managers and staff including RNs, LCSWs, ASWs, Psychiatric Technicians, and Mental Health Workers.
Support the launch and integration of a new Youth Crisis Stabilization Unit, staffed with 22 employees.
Collaborate with a contracted physician group and medical residents to ensure high-quality patient care.
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and promote a culture of safety, compassion, and clinical excellence.

Qualifications:

Licensure/Certification:

Required: Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
Required: Kaweah Health-approved crisis intervention training (within 60 days of hire/transfer)
Preferred: Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field

Experience:

Required: Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in a mental health hospital setting
