RN School

The School Registered Nurse (RN) plays a vital role in supporting the health and well-being of students within the school environment. This position involves applying the nursing process to deliver high-quality care, managing chronic conditions, responding to medical emergencies, and promoting a safe and healthy school setting. The RN also serves as a key liaison between families, school staff, and healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care to students in accordance with individualized health plans.
• Monitor and manage chronic health conditions and administer medications as prescribed.
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid as needed.
• Collaborate with school staff, families, and healthcare providers to support student health.
• Maintain accurate health records and documentation.
• Promote health education and wellness initiatives within the school community.

Minimum Requirements:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• School Nurse Certification, if required by state or contract.
• One year of experience in school nursing, public health, or pediatrics preferred.
• Current CPR certification (if applicable).
• Completion of TB screening (questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray, as applicable).
• Current Health Certificate (as required by contract or state regulation).
• Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice.
