RBT/Behavior Support Specialist
Location: Allegan, MI
Start Date: 2025–2026 School Year
Salary: Competitive, based on experience, credentials, and specialized training – starting at $900 weekly pay
Employment Type: W2 – 40 week contract
Position Summary
As a Behavior Support Specialist, you’ll play a vital role in fostering a positive school climate by supporting students with behavioral challenges and coaching staff in effective intervention strategies. You’ll collaborate closely with school leadership to implement school-wide Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports (PBIS) and Restorative Practices, while also providing direct, hands-on support to students and staff.
What You’ll Do
- Deliver job-embedded professional development on MTSS and behavioral strategies
- Coach teachers and support staff in implementing Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions
- Provide small group and 1:1 socio-emotional and behavioral support to students
- Model and teach de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques
- Support the implementation of PBIS and Restorative Practices
- Collect and analyze behavior data to inform intervention plans
- Collaborate with staff to ensure consistent, effective support for all students
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology, or related field preferred
- Experience working with children in structured settings (preferred)
- Training in PBIS and Restorative Practices, with the ability to coach others
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Patience, maturity, and a passion for student success
- Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
