Amergis Staffing is hiring a School Psychologist! Details below:

- Knoxville, TN
- $62 an hour or travel pay available
- Hours are within normal school hours for district
- Start date: July 31, 2025
- Contract is for full 2025-2026 school year
- Caseload: 2-3 schools
- TN license required (489 endorsement)
- 1 year of experience in school setting required, large school system preferred
- Caseload: 2-3 schools typically
- Have educational diagnosticians on staff to support academic testing, observation, and student input, some report writing. Ed diags partner with school psychs, serve around 3 psychs each
- FBAs and BIPs are not conducted by school psychs
- Strong support system: mentor program, accessible leadership, review committees all to support school psychs district-wide. Monthly staff meetings scheduled to avoid overlap with district learning days (DLD). Case consultations, team meetings, and Google Drive resources provided. Weekly mentorship meetings for new staff, monthly cohort and full team staff meetings as well. Required professional development (PD) occurs during normal operating hours. Optional case consultation sessions held biweekly, typically 3:30–4:30 PM, new staff are encouraged to attend for peer learning and collaboration
- School psychologists are school-based, not central office-based
- Private testing spaces are expected; very rare instances of shared or inadequate spaces to test or work
- Travel between schools is paid at the hourly rate; best efforts made to have them stay at one school per day, but may need to travel. Mileage not paid separately – all hours entered into MaxView and any travel time between schools not deducted from daily pay
- Allowed to work from alternate location 1 day per month to catch up on paperwork remotely
The School Psychologist works to support students through a variety of mental health and developmental issues and aids in qualifying students for additional support services. The School Psychologist is responsible for providing on-site psychological services to students under the jurisdiction of the state and district.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must maintain current State licensures and/or certifications in state of assignment
- Experience in pediatric and adolescent population is preferred
- Master’s degree in psychology preferred
- Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
