Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team for the 2025–2026 academic year. Under the guidance of the Special Education Program Administrator, you will provide high-quality educational services to students in grades K–12 with moderate to severe disabilities. This role emphasizes collaboration, individualized instruction, and a commitment to student growth and inclusion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with families and team members.
- Deliver tailored instruction aligned with the general education curriculum for students with diverse learning, emotional, and physical needs.
- Collaborate with general education staff to support inclusive practices and IEP implementation.
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting plans as needed.
- Prepare engaging instructional materials and maintain a structured, supportive classroom environment.
- Guide and mentor instructional aides and support staff.
- Facilitate transitions between grade levels and support life skills development.
- Communicate regularly with families and staff to foster strong partnerships.
- Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal regulations and policies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (required).
- Valid California teaching credential in Special Education (Moderate/Severe).
- At least one year of teaching experience preferred.
- Endorsement in Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) is a plus.
- CPR certification and current health/TB clearance (as required).
- Strong communication skills and proficiency in English.
- Familiarity with HIPAA and student confidentiality standards.
- Proficient in using technology for instruction and documentation.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
