Day to Day Duties:	Maintain and manage an efficient school clinic Monitor and update student health and immunization records Conduct health screenings and refer students as needed Implement communicable disease control procedures Provide emergency care and manage chronic health conditions Train unlicensed staff on student-specific procedures Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents Support students with physical, mental, or social limitations Participate in health education and policy development Coordinate with community agencies for student support possibility RNs will need to float to 2 different campuses on any given day

The School Registered Nurse oversees the application of thenursing process and the delivery of student care in a school setting. TheSchool RN supports the physical, mental and emotional well-being of studentswithin the school setting. The School RN plays an essential role in promotingthe health and safety, responding to medical emergencies, managing chronicconditions and serving as a liaison between families, school staff andhealthcare providers. The School RN provides services in accordance with Amergis’philosophy, standards, policies and physician orders.

Minimum Requirements:

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state ofemployment
Bachelor’s Degree, preferred
School Nurse Certification as required by state or contract
One year of school nursing, public health or pediatricexperience, preferred
Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice
Current CPR if applicable
TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
Must be at least 18 years of age
