Info about ECU Health:

·      Bed Count: 16-bed palliative/generalmedicine/surgery unit

·      Staffing Ratios: 1:5 RN-to-patient

·      Will do either 36hr or 48hr Contracts

·      Primary Population: Symptom management and/orend of life care for patients with conditions like cancer, heart disease,kidney disease, pulmonary disease or neurological disease

·       **** Must have recent PCUexperience and Level 1 Trauma****

Position: RN PCU

Shift: Nights 7p-7a, EOW

Hours: 36 or 48hrs a week

Contract Length: 13 wks

Number of Openings: 3

Start Date: 7/21 or 7/28

Must live 50 miles away for Travel Pay

The Progressive Care Unit RN, as a professionalpractitioner, assumes the responsibility and accountability for deliveringpatient care to telemetry/progressive care patients. The Progressive Care UnitRN demonstrates the ability to make clinical judgments in an effective andefficient manner with supervision. This individual employs critical thinkingand performance ability in the coordinator of patient care, consistentlyperforms according to nursing standards, and is accountable in managing patientcare and assisting others in the management of patient care.  The Progressive Care Unit RN is sometimesalso called a step-down nurse, cardiac stepdown, neuro stepdown, surgicalstepdown and in some medical centers, the PCU is also known as a transition orintermedia unit.
