Educational Sign Language Interpreter – Empower Communication, Support Inclusion
We’re seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Educational Sign Language Interpreter to join our team and help foster inclusive learning environments for deaf and hard-of-hearing students. In this role, you will serve as a vital communication bridge, ensuring that every student has full access to classroom instruction, social interaction, and learning activities.
What You’ll Do: As a trained professional, you’ll facilitate communication between students, teachers, staff, and peers using American Sign Language (ASL) and other interpreting methods. You’ll work closely with educators and support teams to help students engage with curriculum content and thrive academically and socially within the school environment.
Minimum Requirements:

Demonstrated proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Interpreting, Deaf Studies, or a related field (preferred)

State Board of Education Initial Sign Language Interpreter Certificate (if required)

EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) Certificate (as applicable by state/client)

RID (Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf) Certification (as required by state/client)

Compliance with all applicable professional standards of practice

Current CPR certification (if applicable)

Completed TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray (if applicable)

Current health certificate, if required by contract or state

Must meet all federal, state, and local regulatory requirements
