Join a welcoming and student-centered middle school in Mount Prospect, IL as a Special Education Teacher providing FMLA coverage this fall. You’ll work alongside a collaborative team to deliver meaningful instruction and support for a manageable caseload of approximately 14 middle school students across self-contained, resource, and cross-categorical settings.

What You’ll Do:

Deliver specially designed instruction to students in grades K–12 (middle school caseload focus)
Collaborate with general education staff on student goals and instructional strategies
Provide instructional support, tutorials, and accommodations based on IEPs
Support students in both academic and social-emotional development

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university preferred
Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations
Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred
State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching preferred
State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching preferred
State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teaching preferred
Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred
Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
Current CPR if applicable
TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
Must be at least 18 years of age

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:40 AM – 3:50 PM
Contract Dates: September 2 – December 5, 2025
