Position: Elementary Music Teacher 

$1,000 Sign on Bonus!

Location: Merrill Elementary School, Beloit, WI
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Contract Dates: August 2025 – June 2026
Compensation: $40/hour

Position Summary:

Merrill Elementary is seeking a passionate and creative Music Teacher to inspire and educate students in grades K–5. The ideal candidate will foster a love of music through engaging lessons, performances, and classroom activities that support both individual expression and group collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive general music curriculum aligned with state and district standards.
  • Teach vocal and instrumental music, rhythm, movement, and music appreciation.
  • Prepare students for school concerts, assemblies, and other performances.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and staff to integrate music into broader educational themes.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports student growth and creativity.
  • Assess student progress and provide regular feedback to students and parents.
  • Manage classroom instruments and materials responsibly.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or a related field.
  • Valid Wisconsin teaching license with a Music (K–12) certification.
  • Prior teaching experience in an elementary setting preferred.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Ability to play piano or guitar is a plus.
  • Enthusiasm for working with young learners and a commitment to equity and inclusion.
