Duties to be performed include: Reading and interpreting requests and instructions of physicians concerning radiological
examination procedures to determine what procedures are to be undertaken. Positioning and placing incarcerated individuals
before and during examinations to obtain the required radiologic views. Operating radiologic equipment by setting controls and
making required adjustments using guidelines and standard procedures and as directed by physicians to control exposure time,
kilo-voltage, milliamperage, appropriate filters and portals. Positions appropriate shields and protective devices on individuals.
Performs office support and clerical work to meet the requirements of the radiology department. Monitors equipment daily.
Following and maintaining New York State Department of Health (DOH) Bureau of Environmental Radiation Protection, rules
and regulations. Follow State and Department regulations and guidelines. Continually maintaining education credits required to
maintain licensure. Must be able to use D.R. Equipment. Must have an understanding of computer based PACS system.
