Teacher for the Deaf
Location: Hoke County Schools (Various Locations) – In-person preferred, virtual considered
Start Date: August 25, 2025
Contract Length: 2025–2026 School Year
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 37.5 Hours/Week | No Weekends or Holidays
About the Opportunity:
Amergis is proud to partner exclusively with Hoke County Schools to fill a full-time Teacher for the Deaf position for the upcoming school year. This role supports students across multiple school sites and is ideal for educators passionate about making a difference in the lives of hearing-impaired students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Deaf Education or a related field
- Valid North Carolina Teaching License in Hearing Impaired
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Experience working with school-aged children preferred
Compensation:
- In-Person Rate: $52/hour
- Virtual Rate: $45/hour
- Full-time hours (37.5/week)
- No weekends or holidays
